Beth and her Family

In my previous post I spoke about Beth Sampson. She sent me a delightful photo of her family.
I hope to meet Beth one day. She was also kind enough to write a review that you might want to check out on this site. God bless you, Beth, and thanks for making my brother's day so special for me with your note.

Mark's 60th Birthday Gift to ME

The morning of April 23rd (Mark's birthday) I opened an email from Beth Sampson. She had ordered my book online and had just finished reading it. She wrote a fabulous email complimenting the book and sharing that our family paralleled hers in many ways. One quote that was especially meaningful to me was "Imagine how he is still putting a smile on many faces years after his passing. What a blessing." How true that is, Beth.
Pictured here is Beth with her delightful sister, Chris.

Congratulations to Hannah Murray

Out of 132 prose entries, Hannah Murray made it to the semi-final round at the St. Thomas Junior High Speech Tournament.
Hannah read a chapter from Last To Leave Home. The chapter was "I Appreciate That"---detailing Mark's graduation experience. Hannah read it with such expression and sensitivity it almost seemed that she had known him.
Thank you Hannah for honoring Mark with your oral interpretation. It was well done.

A Good Gal - Gwen

Gwen, mother of a dear Y friend Gerri Ayers, is shown here with me when I spoke at 2nd Baptist. Gwen is such a sweetheart. What's so special is that she gave me a generous donation to the YMCA in honor of her daughter. I was pleased to accept it on their behalf. Gerri, you have a beautiful mother, inside and out!

2ND Baptist PIGLETS

When speaking to the PIGLETS (Philosophical Intellectual Gathering Ladies Exalting the Savior) I gave away an Easter basket with a signed copy of my book. Bertha Wilkes won and is pictured with her prize. Lovely Mildred Wilkes was one of the ladies who purchased a book and is pictured after the luncheon.
