Christmas Spirit is Alive in Texas
The community of North Richland Hills, Texas, has a special Christmas super santa! Cheryl Terry has two group homes and one of her gifts to the parents of her residents was my book personally inscribed. Pictured above on the left is Cheryl. Standing next to her holding "Last To Leave Home" is Janice May who hosted the lovely Christmas gathering.
Cheryl is such a caring person; what a gift that community has in her!

Tim's Place
My friend, Mike Roth, just emailed me about Tim Harris who lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This young man has Down syndrome, yet he owns his own restaurant where they serve breakfast, lunch, and hugs. They advertise Hugs as 0% calories, 0% guilt, and 100% sweetness. Check out his website and be sure to watch the short news story about Tim.

It's so refreshing to see what so many people with Down syndrome have accomplished.
I don't know about you, but I'm heading to Tim's Place.....just for hug from Tim.
Thanks Mike, for sharing this beautiful story.

St. Michael's Book Fair
Thanks to librarian, Cheli Henderson for inviting me to be part of an author's night at St. Michael's Book Fair which was held at Barnes & Noble. I enjoyed speaking to a number of parents and students. Pictured is the talented Ms. Henderson who was able to secure over $5,000 for St. Michaels. I have had the pleasure of coordinating our elective schedule with Cheli. The book fair was held Dec. 3. What a great time to buy Christmas gifts!
