Ideas for 2010 Conference

As a member of the 2010 Planning Committee for the TABS (Tennessee Adult Brothers and Sisters with disabilities) Conference, I would love to receive input for the agenda for next year's conference. If you were an adult brother, sister, relative with a sibling with a learning disability, what information would you like to hear about at a conference? I plan to send in your ideas to Nashville at the end of this week. Vanderbilt supports this conference and is doing some great research in this area. Ashley Coulter at Vandy is our conference coordinator/leader and is already getting ideas for the agenda.
If you do not want to post on this site, email me at either www.lasttoleavehome.com or carolynbaker@sbcglobal.net.
Some ideas given thus far have been: info on future planning (trusts, etc.), small group discussions addressing various special needs areas (autism, down syndrome, brain disorders, etc/), and ideas of books to read.

Welcome to my Blog!

I have decided to add a Blog to my website! I hope you take a moment to read and respond to comments. I plan to share experiences from various events where I share/discuss my book. I continue on my journey to sell books and eventually will send my proceeds to the Adult Down Syndrome Clinic in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Leslie Rubin (founder of the clinic) maintains contact with me and it will be such a blessing when one day I can present him with a check to further his work with those with disabilities.
I welcome your feedback, questions, and/or suggestions for ways to promote Last To Leave Home.
